More anniversary goodies!

This ride is definitely starting to get a little rough Moonies, so hang on because there is so much more to come! Last night there was another big update on the Sailor Moon Channel and Bandai sites. Finally, we're starting to get some actual 20th anniversary collectibles from Japan! They totally weren't kidding when they said they're aiming this new line to older female fans! (sorry not sorry boy Moonies! :p).

The newest shinny (almost made a typo writing "sinny" and indeeed all these shinnies are indeed becoming sinny! XDDD!) to go up for pre-order in Japan are these gorgeous Crisis Brooch rings! You have the choice of a coating of .925 grade silver or 18 karat gold , both crowned with a cute 5mm pink Swarovski gem, but either one is still pretty! (who are we kidding?! GOLD FTW!) Priced at about $150 USDs, this ring is definitely not for children, it's just a elegant simple touch to keep your inner Moonie excited without having to be super flamboyant about it. This ring is is for sale for only Japan HERE, but the times when they're available are very sporadic and unpredictable, so you gotta keep checking guys!

Even though I'm super excited about getting all these beautiful new things, the order in which they're coming out just baffles me. First we had a Crystal compact from SMR and now a Crisis brooch ring from SuperS. They're not consistent with the seasons or the products! It's not a bad thing, it's just kind of weird and unexpected. Other than the S.H. Figuarts, there's no way to anticipate when the next product is coming out or even what it will be. SO RANDOM.

Another interesting little thing we got are a new wall scroll and hand towel (both with the similar artwork) but I don't know what to say about these. It's a little bit sad that they're using such old, overused artwork. Like, it doesn't seem they've even re-traced these into vectors or digital media, they look like the old products! Also, as designer, I'm a little bit confused as to why they're using the new international manga logo, and not the anime logo or the Japanese one or the 20th anniversary logo for that matter! There is nothing new or exciting about these two products other that the mere fact that they're, well, new. It makes me kind of mad that they're not using Marco Albiero's amazing artwork. If it's there ready and available, why not use it? *siiiiiiiggghhh*

Preorders on the Bandai site. Wallscroll / Hand towel

The Bandai site has had trouble dealing with the amount of people trying to pre-order these, their site has crashed a few times and they have sold out almost immediately of all of these prodcuts, but Osabu has tweeted how sorry he and the company is for all these problems. They are working their hardest to ensure that everyone who wants one of these gets them. Overseas fans are having a lot of trouble ordering these as well. Be patient Moonies. I'm sure we will be able to get these products sooner or later. It's not possible for customers overseas to buy any of these products (only Japanese credit cards and addresses are accepted) but you can use international deputy services that can buy the products on your behalf and they will charge you a fee on top of the price and shipping fees. The best service I've heard about is Shopping Mall Japan.

Also Tamashii Nations has updated us with a super cute pic of the colored the S.H. Figuarts Sailor Mercury figure. Her face is very very pretty, it's nice that every detailed has been carefully sculpted and the materials carefully selected to make them as close to the original anime designs as possible. Really, I've heard no negative comments about these toys thus far. I don't think we'll be disappointed when we get to have them. Unfortunately we don't have pics of her visor, computer or pen, but we'll have pics of those soon enough :D!

She's not available on pre-sale yet, but her release date is in October. Price is roughly the same as Moon, and it'll probably be available from international retailers like CDJapan soon. Good luck and happy hunting Moonies!
