Moon Crystal Power MAKE-UP!!

In case you missed the Moonplosion of awesomeness that has been going of for the last 10 hours, here is a taste of AMAZING for ya! The Sailor Moon 20th anniversary product line is still releasing new articles and last night Osabu took to Twitter to post the news about this incredible powder compact called ‘Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder’ made specifically for collectors, specifically Moonies who are now adults! This wonderful shinny was presented online vía the Sailor Moon Channel and the official Bandai website and received extremely well.

According to Osabu, there has been many requests to turn the shinnies into make up kits, specially since these kind of toys sort of look like make up compacts to begin with, not to mention the words "MAKE UP!" Usagi yells before each transformation. The design is obviously based on the Crystal Brooch from SMR, but there was no mention as to why they skipped the first brooch from Sailor Moon Classic. The powder is described to be light and shinny, so I'm expecting it to be more like a shimmery powder of sorts. This is the first Sailor Moon themed compact by Bandai’s ‘Creer Beaute’ who have also created beauty products for other anime series, such as Pretty Cure.

As of now, the brooch is completely sold out on the Bandai wesite and other online retailers. Hopefully this limited run was just a trial to measure the demand of new Sailor Moon products, and I believe that the fact that it sold out in a night is indeed a very positive sign. I'm sure we will get many more of these, so be prepared guys! The retail price of this magnificent piece of shinny is ¥3980, approximately $45 dollars or so.

I was unable to secure a compact for myself and from the comments I've gotten on Twitter, many many Moonies missed out on this one as well. Hopefully they'll make a second batch to cover all the demand still out there, because I'm sure that even in Japan, these are sought after. I'm also expecting a lot more make-up kits in the future. Here are a few FAN MADE designs made by @mosbk , @ho_shiraya and @azucocco of other sets that could include mascaras, perfumes and eye shadows. It would be great if we could get these types of collectibles too!
